Hi! I am Monica Benavidez, and I welcome you to my blog. Here you’ll find tidbits of inspiration in regards to  photography, interior decorating, cooking, and my favorite- event planning! I hope you enjoy your time on these pages I have lovingly created, and please feel free to contact me with any questions via e-mail.

I was born in Harlingen, Texas and was fortunate enough to grow up in the wonderful city of San Antonio, Texas. While growing up in San Antonio, I became obsessed with Las Palapas, Jim’s and North Star Mall. LOVE those places. Oh, and I can’t forget about Chris Madrid’s! From there, I moved onto Austin, Texas to complete a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism at the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. While in Austin I grew to love Zilker Park, Barton Creek Mall, Chuy’s and all things orange, of course. Somewhere in between all that, I met my husband Daniel (online…really, online!), moved to Beeville, and lived happily ever after. We’ve been married one year (yay!), and we have a dog we love more than anything in the world. His name is Pee Wee and you can be sure he’ll be mentioned quite often on my blog. He is so much fun!

Besides being a wife and doggy-mom, I am a financial aid advisor at the local community college. Overall, I feel blessed to be able to help people obtain their education and ultimately help them achieve their dreams. When I am at home, I can usually be found chasing Pee Wee around the house, yelling at Daniel to please put the dirty clothes IN the hamper, and working on either my Damask Diva Etsy store, which specializes in damask wedding decor, or my jewelry store. And HGTV is always on. Seriously. Always. Love it.
